Summer Term News:

Our topics this term are 'Gardens' and 'Holidays'.

In our story time sessions, we are looking at stories based on journeys, to lead into our 'Holidays' topic later in the term.

We received our live caterpillars in class this week, so we have been studying these closely, and taking part in lots of activities based around the life cycle of butterflies, as we wait for our own caterpillars to change into beautiful butterflies! We have also been looking at the story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' to support this.

We are also currently growing our own tomatoes! frown

This term in cookery, we are focusing on sandwiches. We are working on knife skills- spreading and slicing, and trying different fillings. The children are eating the sandwiches they have made at snack time, so they will not be bringing their cooking home this term. smiley

A reminder that we are looking at 'The Olympics' next week in the build up to sports day on Wednesday 6th July. We will be joining Silver and Green classes to take part in some activities based around our chosen country- India- on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

We look forward to welcoming some parents and other family members to our very exciting Sports Day event on Wednesday morning.

The 'animals' topic will roll over into the summer term.

Our theme this term is Fairy Stories and Nursery Rhymes!

We will be looking at:

Jack and the Beanstalk

The Gingerbread Man

3 Billy Goats Gruff

Little Red Riding Hood

The Three Little Pigs

Forest School:

Please note that Forest School is now on WEDNESDAYS, so please ensure wellies and coats are in school on this day, especially with the recent weather- we do like to explore the Forest School area in different types of weather, so wellies are advisable.

Also:

We now do P.E. on Mondays and Thursdays, so please ensure that P.E. kits are in school for these days.

Swimming is Thursdays

Many Thanks!  smiley
