We have had a busy half term learning about growing plants and Growing Up. We have focused on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have shared different versions of the story together and the children have been encouraged to re-tell and sequence the story as well as acting out, singing and dancing.
In Maths we have practiced counting beans made from play dough and used different construction blocks to build beanstalks of different heights, using our measuring skills.
In Forest School we have been using a pulley system to pull the Giant off the ‘Beanstalk’! The children also took part in a ‘Water Challenge’ and used their problem solving and balancing skills to transport water from one place to another.
In Cookery we have walked to the shops and to buy different beans and taken part in tasting and feeling them. Beans on toast were the favourite!
We have enjoyed weekly music and dance with Ruby from Bounce and Beat and had football skills sessions with Anthony from Coventry City Football Club.
